Unexpected details emerged in the case of mass death of children at the center for long-term care Wanaque Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (new Jersey).
The health facility staff is confident that the government deliberately delayed the translation of children infected with adenovirus, trying to keep the Department of paediatrics at full load. Due to this, the centre could count on the maximum of funding through the Medicaid program. On the other hand, the institution regularly is not enough staff because the administration, thus saving on the cost.
Problems in Wanaque Center began in late September. The Agency recorded outbreak of adenoviral infection, which spread quickly among the young patients. In early October it became known about the death of 6 children. Several days later, the death toll has reached 10 people, and another 19 children had contracted a dangerous illness. Many of them had severe form of disability related to neuromuscular and respiratory complications.

The staff of the medical center was surprised that the authorities did not hurry to send the sick children to the hospital. Moreover, even when their number began to increase rapidly, the management of the Wanaque Center tried to organize the immediate transfer of their patients.
