The state of California launched a massive operation to rescue 120 people, who were cut off from civilization due to the heavy snowfall. People for 5 days waiting for help, being locked up in the popular recreation center Montecito Sequoia Lodge, located in Kings Canyon national Park.

As told the press Secretary of the US Forest service Alicia Embry, guests and staff of the resort was cut off from civilization in a snow storm. Last Sunday, February 3, people found that the way to Montecito Sequoia Lodge is completely covered. The situation was so serious that even heavy equipment could not get to the victims. Fortunately, the recreation center had enough food and water for the first few days.

Emergency services began to prepare to rescue the guests and employees of the Montecito Sequoia Lodge. 2 were formed squad. While the first group using heavy machinery are gradually cleared the road, the other part of rescuers made their way to the people on the snowmobiles. They made sure that nobody needed medical assistance and on Thursday came back with an additional supply of food.

In total rescuers cleared the road for 5 days. The work is much hampered fallen trees and snow thickness of 2 meters. Heavy equipment and emergency personnel traveled more than 13 miles through snow piles. However, these difficulties did not prevent them to carry out their work, and on the evening of 7 February, the people in Montecito Sequoia Lodge was released.

Guests and staff of the recreation for a long time been thanked his rescuers and was very happy that finally can go home. However, the owners of the resort are already preparing for another snow storm that will hit the region this weekend.
