Legislators in Tennessee are considering a bill to virtually complete ban on abortion since, as soon as the woman knows she is pregnant.
If the law is passed, it will be one of the strictest abortion laws in the United States.
State Senate meet this week to discuss the bill the»fetal heartbeat», which prohibits abortions after six weeks after pregnancy. Usually this is the period in which the woman finds out that she was pregnant.
This project has already been passed by the House of representatives in March, but stopped in the Senate.
More than 20 witnesses from both sides will meet in a debate before the judiciary Committee of the state.
Note that, due to the case «ROE V. Wade», the US Constitution protects a woman’s right to abortion until viability of the fetus.
The Supreme court considered the viability when the fetus can survive itself outside the uterus, which usually ranges from 24 to 28 weeks of pregnancy.

But the legislators of Tennessee have suggested that viability is when a pregnancy can be detected either using «wiretapping» of fetal heart rate, or increased level of the hormone HCG.
The judicial Committee, which includes seven Republicans and two Democrats are likely to approve these changes. The bill as amended will be put to the vote in January 2020.
Activists for abortion rights have criticized the legislation as part of an ongoing unconstitutional «assault» on women.
In 2019, about a dozen States have adopted laws restricting access to abortion. Six of these States have banned the procedure after six or eight weeks of pregnancy.
