Yesterday, April 28, Vice-President Mike Pence went on a tour of the laboratories at Mayo Clinic, where tests for coronavirus, and ignored hospital rules, according to which all visitors must wear masks.
«Mayo Clinic has informed the Vice-President on the policy of wearing the mask until his segodnyashnego arrival,» wrote the hospital on his Twitter at the time, as Penny was at the meeting with the doctors and patients. The tweet was later deleted.
After criticism of the Pens, the politician said that he considered it his duty to speak to doctors and see them «in the eye».
«As Vice-President of the United States, I am regularly tested for coronavirus and all who are close to me, checked for coronavirus», — he told reporters, noting that he follows the guidelines of the Centers for control and prevention of diseases.

CDC recommends wearing a cloth face mask in public places to help prevent transmission of the virus to others.
«And since I have no coronavirus, I thought for me it would be a good opportunity to be here, to be able to talk to these researchers, this incredible medical staff, to look them in the eye and say, «Thank you»».
The President of the United States Donald trump also wears masks during press briefings and other public events.
