The years of waiting were not in vain. New Tappan Zee Bridge will be opened tomorrow.

The new bridge named after the late father of the current Governor of new York, former Governor Mario Cuomo. It connects Westchester County and Rockland.

To complete the construction took four years and about 7,000 workers.

«After 20 years of periodic false starts we leave the old, dangerous, traumatic bridge, and open up new, safer, smarter design,» said Cuomo. «This bridge will pass more traffic, cars can travel faster on wider roads. The bridge is more technologically advanced, is equipped with cashless payment acceptance, has the most modern security system».
