Gasoline prices in Chicago are the highest in the last year

According to the resource GasBuddy.com, gasoline in Chicago costs an average 2.71 $ per gallon as of Friday. This price is 17 cents higher than the national average — 2.54 USD per gallon. The national price is also the highest point in the last year and yet the issue of lowering the cost is not worth it.

In just 10 days the price of gasoline in Chicago rose by almost 20 cents.

Of course, not done in this story without the influence of hurricane Harvey. And although it doesn’t directly hurt Chicago, but the rise in price of petrol in the city began even before the hurricane, according to some Harvey has damaged a major pipeline Explorer Pipeline – supplying the petroleum products from Houston to Chicago (about 350 000 barrels per day).

However, experts hasten to reassure Chicagoans. The price of gasoline, in their view, should be reduced in mid-late September.
