The United States will remove restrictions on emissions from coal-fired power plants

The head of the Agency for environmental protection Scott Pruitt said Monday that coal miners in Kentucky can count on the abolition of rules limiting greenhouse gas emissions from coal-fired power plants. «The war on coal is over,» — said the chief ecologist of the country. No Federal Agency added that Pruitt should not use its authority to declare war on any sector of the economy.

Speaking Hazard (Kentucky) jointly with the Senate majority leader, Republican Mitch Macconnell, Pruitt said his Agency will release its new proposal and the new rules on Tuesday.

«Tomorrow, in Washington, I will sign a new proposal to eliminate the so-called plan for «Clean energy», adopted by the previous administration of the President and, thus, will begin to implement efforts for the total abolition of this rule,» said Pruitt.

A 43-page proposal, which said Pruitt, was sent for review to the edition of The Washington Post and other news websites last week. That offers the Agency? No replacement and alternative to regulate emissions of carbon dioxide, only the complete abolition of the existing rules.

A place for announcements about upcoming plans of the Agency – Kentucky – was also selected to head the EPA is not accidental. Because here is concentrated the coal industry of the country. In the face of thousands of workers and managers this sector Pruitt eloquently explained how «terrible» were the consequences of Obama’s regulations limiting the emissions to the coal industry. Of course, his performance was a success. However, even many of those who have already invested a lot of money in the improvement of production with the aim of reducing emissions and would seem to be the most outspoken opponent of rules, agreed only a small easing of regulations, not asking for their complete abolition.

«This is Donald trump and Scott Pruitt will only embarrass yourself, giving rise to one of the most egregious attacks ever related to public health, climate and safety of every community in the United States,» said Executive Director of the Sierra Club Michael Brun. «Pruitt offers to repeal a plan that would prevent thousands of premature deaths and tens of thousands of cases of asthma among children every year.»

Recall that Scott Pruitt was one of the 20 attorneys General of the States, which in a judicial order has demanded to cancel Obama’s decision about restrictions on carbon emissions. As stated by Pruitt himself, he fully agrees with the conclusions of scientists that the main driving force of global climate change are emissions from burning fuel.

The current head of the Agency also opposes the U.S. signing of the Paris agreement, considering it «hostile to America», because it many Americans are at risk of losing their jobs. Interestingly, in arguing its position in relation to this international act, the chief ecologist of the country do not speak about the environment, only about the industry and the economy. Many analysts believe that the opinion of Scott Pruitt nothing as part of a political plan that has nothing to do with a realistic assessment of environmental threats.

In General, the plan «Clean energy» assumes a gradual reduction in carbon emissions by 2030, a 32% compared to 2005. In March 2017, the US President , Donald trump has signed a decree repealing Obama’s decision on emissions from coal-fired power plants. Now cancel is also planned and other restrictive documents and solutions in the industry. It should be noted that, if voiced, the plan will be implemented by Pritom to the end, the damage will be inflicted not only air but also water, in other words, the climate and natural conditions in General.

Shortly after the creation of the Agency for environmental protection in the United States in 1970, the country has launched a global photo project called Documerica. It has been shot more than 81 000 images showing what looked like the industrial States from 1971 to 1977. Perhaps politicians should revisit the horrible images and think about the consequences of their economically beneficial but environmentally disastrous decisions?
