MTA is going to turn Grand Central restaurant complex

The highlight of Grand Central is the fact that modern technology is seamlessly interwoven with an expensive touch of antiquity. However, MTA officials decided that the oldest and most famous station in new York it’s time to abandon the usual passengers of eateries and shops, such as Junior’s, Two Boots Pizza and the Grand Harvest Wines, for the change which will come in more expensive establishments.

The New York Post reports that the number of future residents of the Grand Central will include Art Bird & Whiskey Bar, which is run by the former chef of Oprah Winfrey, and Tartinery, specializing in the sale of sandwiches. It is expected that the process of replacing the old eateries of new institutions will be completed in 2018.

In the new scheme the budget eateries, like Irving Farm, and Dishes have no place, so they will be forced to leave their rented area of 1,200 square feet for each establishment.

French cafe Tartinery, known for its sandwiches and salads, will open its new branch at Grand Central, which will become the third institution of the network in the city, after restaurants in The Plaza and Hudson Eats in Brookfield Place. Tartinery is willing to pay the rent is less than Irving Farm, but in making the MTA took into consideration other factors, in particular, the ability of the popular network to attract new customers.

It appears that the MTA forgot about the main purpose of the station building, if they decided to make a transport hub next restaurant complex.
