The Americans lay a festive table in different ways. For many generations in different States have developed their menu. The researchers took into account this fact: «We added ham on the bone, green beans and potatoes. When adding lunch is slightly more expensive than $1 per person making the total cost of the dinner in honor of thanksgiving just above $6 a person.»

Americans now spend more on gifts and entertainment

However, the Deloitte forecast for retailers is very encouraging. It is expected that eventually the US population will spend more than in previous years, particularly given gifts — an average of $1536. According to forecasts, the average American will buy 16 gifts, including gift cards at the most popular products.

«Consumers are optimistic about the economy and financial situation in their family,» believe the authors of the forecast.

In addition, the consumer survey showed that increase spending on Internet purchases, which have 57% of all purchases.

Over the last 5 years confident in the bright future of the national economy, Americans began to spend more on holiday entertainment and travel, as well as celebrations outside the home. And these costs in 2018 can be 40% of the average holiday budget, or $611 per person, which exceeds the cost of gifts (respectively 34%, or $525 per person).
