Small business in new York city opposes discrimination

New York is a multicultural city. More than a third of the population was born in another country, and over half the people here are not white. It is hard to imagine a religion, lifestyle or race that would not have been presented in new York in one form or another. But even in the first half of 2017, the rise of hateful comments against the representatives of the various communities throughout the city.

Speaking out against divisive rhetoric, an increasing number of small businesses in new York joins campaign called Hate No Business Here. The idea is simple: different institutions and offices can download and print free poster template, which includes a summary of the main slogan of the campaign in nine different languages. These posters placed on doors and Windows of cafes, shops, etc.

The concept is the brainchild of Amanda Neville, the owner of Tipsy, store wine and spirits in Brooklyn.

«Many of us on Myrtle Avenue was inspired to be active and speak out against division and hatred,» says Neville. «I thought it would be great to unite with a unified message, a unified visual signal that we’re in this together».

The recently launched campaign has already had far-reaching plans. The organizers plan to extend the range to the national level, showing the commitment of the business to the unity of the nation.
