«Today’s groundbreaking approach to object Delta represents another step forward as we build a brand new airport to LaGuardia».

The Delta terminal needs to consist of gates 37, 33 of which will have access to the double lanes for taxis.

The entire airport will be closer to the Grand Central Parkway to 600 feet (approximately 183 meters). This «move» will allow to allocate additional two miles under taxiways for aircraft, which in turn will reduce the possibility of delays to a minimum.

In addition, LaGuardia will be easier to get, because the project will improve transport access to the airport. In particular, the construction of the AirTrainthat will connect LaGuardia with the metro in the district of Queens, Willets Point, and providing high-speed ferry service to the Maritime terminal.

The discovery of about half of the new gates in Terminal B will be held next year, and the main terminal area will begin to work by the beginning of 2020. Major repairs must be fully completed in 2021.
