Merck CEO Frazier leaves the Board industry because of trump

CEO of pharmaceutical firm Merck Kenneth Frazier said on Monday that leaving his post at the American Council industry (American Manufacturing Council — approx. ed) in Washington amid continuing criticism of the statements of the President of trump about events in Charlottesville.

In his statement, Fraser notes that «the question of personal morality,» and adds that he considers it his duty to speak out against intolerance and extremism.

«The leaders of America have to abide by our fundamental values being a strong proponent against hatred, fanaticism and superiority of some people over others. All this is contrary to the American ideals of equality of people,» said Fraser.

The President, in turn, was not slow to respond to the statement, Fraser, sharply responding to his Twitter:

In the end, the President was criticized because he did not directly condemn the «white superiority» and the activities of extremist groups.

A White house spokesman said the President’s words, saying that «the President deplores the hatred, bigotry and violence that comes from all sources and all sides».

Trump announced the establishment of the Council of industry immediately after taking office, and Frazier was the only black man in this Council.
