For the first time in 40 years new York city marathon was won by the American

Shalan Flanagan became the first American woman to win the new York marathon since winning Miki Gorman in 1977. 36-year-old American ran the distance in 2 hours, 26 minutes and 53 seconds. Second place went to 35-year-old Kenyan Mary Keitany, which coped with the task a minute later and ran a marathon in 2 hours 27 minutes 54 seconds.
