In the Bronx a teenager was killed, fell from fire escape

On Thursday, at about 06:20, 15-year-old Leonardo Marmolejos fell from the fire escape located on the facade of a residential building in the Bronx. It happened on Briggs Avenue near East 199th Street.

Later, the boy landed in the courtyard of the house, was found by the neighbors. Leonardo was lying face down and was unconscious. He was wearing pajamas.

During the investigation, law enforcement officers found that Marmolejo fell from the fifth floor, which is just his apartment where he lived with his mother and grandmother.

Fire escape connected with his bedroom window, so investigators have suggested that Leonardo deliberately climbed the stairs to smoke.

When she found out about his death, she needed medical care due to severe pain in the chest. The woman was taken to the same hospital where her son is.
