A policeman fired at the journalist, confusing the camera with a weapon

In Ohio Deputy Sheriff Clark County shot a photojournalist, confusing the camera and tripod weapons.

A journalist and a local photographer Andy Grimm came out of his car at the bus stop to make pictures of the storm and the storm that raged in the town 20 miles from Dayton.

It was around 22 PM, when he set up the tripod and suddenly… got a bullet in the chest and shoulder.

«It happened instantly,» he told the Daily News Andy from his hospital bed. Fortunately, the injuries were not serious.

The shooter was Deputy Sheriff, who, by the way, familiar with the victims. As soon as he realized what he had done, and ran to help Andy, «I thought it was a gun!».

Andy admits he’s fine now, but when lying on the ground and the machine «ambulance», I was terribly angry at the police.

The publisher of the local newspaper, Dale Grimm – the father wounded. He said that, according to his son, the police made no warning.

«He said not: show hands: come on, what have you got,» said Dale.

In fact what happened is an investigation, but Dale Grimm said that his son did not want severe punishment for a Deputy Sheriff. «Andy doesn’t want him fired, considering the incident a misunderstanding.»
