The massacre in the capital school: the diplomat’s daughter stabbed a classmate with scissors

Sometimes between students to happen the fights, but case in Washington went far beyond the usual conflict. On Tuesday, the 12-year-old daughter of a foreign diplomat twice stabbed a classmate with scissors in the shoulder.

The wounded teenager was taken to a local hospital with stab wounds. According to the Metropolitan police, the offender could not be arrested because of her diplomatic status.

Since the current legislation does not allow the suspect to present charges in a standard procedure, the police plan to consult with the attorney General of the district of Columbia and the U.S. State Department.

The incident occurred at 12:50 at the school, located at 2001 block of Wisconsin Avenue. Injury 13-year-old victim does not pose a threat to life.

According to the international agreement, ratified by 191 countries, including the United States, diplomats are not subject to arrest and detention in any form. The immunity extends to members of their families.

Meanwhile, a person with diplomatic status are not protected from civil and criminal prosecution and could be declared persona non grata in the host country. In this case the offender is obliged to leave his post and will be expelled from the state.
