54-year-old woman knocked the gun out of the hands of 23-year-old robber and shot him

Saturday morning around 6:15 in the area of the 8000 block on South Ashland Avenue in Chicago on a 54-year-old woman was attacked by a 23-year-old robber. The victim was waiting for a bus that was to take her to a hotel. The assailant approached, pulled a gun and demanded to give him money. The woman resisted. Between the attackers and the victim got in a little tussle, they pushed each other, pulled his clothes. In the process the woman managed to knock the weapon out of the hands of men. She raised the gun and shot the offender in the arm.

Upon arrival, medics and police would-be robber was hospitalized at Advocate Christ Medical Center. The wound was not serious, the offender is in stable condition. The victim during the incident were not injured.

According to the victim, the man tried to shoot her, and after she inflicted a wound, he snatched the woman’s gun. However, the gun didn’t work for some reason. «It was part of the Lord,» said the victim of Marnita Carter.
