In Marseille, four American tourists poured acid

Four young American tourists were attacked in the French city of Marseille. As reported by Reuters, an unidentified woman aged 41 years, came to American at the railway station Saint Charles and splashed acid on them. The incident took place Sunday around 11 am. Tourists heading to Paris.

Press Secretary of Prosecutor’s office of Marseille said that the attackers arrested. No threats and extremist statements during the attack the woman has made, so law enforcement officers excludes consideration of what happened from the point of view of a terrorist act. Police believe that the attacker has a mental disorder.

Two American tourists were hospitalized in connection with the received burns, and two other girls were in a state of shock, but serious injuries have not received and refused hospitalization. All the victims – at the age of about 20 years.

The representative of the United States Embassy in Paris said US Consulate in Marseille is in contact with the French authorities in connection with the investigation into the attack. American diplomats do not disclose information about the victims, protecting the privacy.
