Nine-year-old boy died after a football hit him during a football game. The boy just played with members of the youth sports leagues when the ball hit him on the head causing serious injury.
The game was held indoors, in building Food and Finance High School on West 50th Street. The incident took place around 10 a.m. Sunday.
Nine-year-old Tomaso Serasa was immediately taken to Roosevelt Hospital, but doctors failed to save the boy, they pronounced him dead.
This is not the first death of a child during class football. We have previously reported that in late August, the 14-year-old died while playing football at Mount Saint Michael Academy on Murdock Avenue. The boy had no contact with anyone during the class, he performed a warm-up. The cause of his death is not established.
