Texas student fatally shot a police pistol

On Monday evening, 48-year-old police officer died from a bullet in his 19-year-old student at Texas tech University. The incident occurred at 19:45 in Lubbock, where the school is.

At the time of death, the technical officer of police Floyd East Junior was in the line of duty. On that fateful evening he with a partner had to visit the campus to check out the 19-year-old rookie Hollis Daniels.

Entering the room of a student, law enforcement officers found drugs and accessories for their use. Daniels had to be taken in for questioning. Arriving at the police station, the suspect pulled out a pistol and inflicted a mortal wound ISTU — reported by the University Department of public relations.

After the murder of Daniels managed to escape the scene, taking the baptismal chamber of the deceased officer. Part of a massive operation to find the fugitive, the police surrounded the campus and sought the aid of special forces.

The attacker was not destined to escape justice — in 21:28 he was detained near the municipal auditorium.

The murder weapon and the stolen camera was discovered. It is not yet clear, the gun belonged to Daniels or his sacrifice. Under state law, to purchase firearms is open to any individual aged 18 years, but for his open carry with a permit and concealed license.

Floyd East Junior worked in the police since 1 December 2014. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Daniels was arrested on suspicion of murder punishable by the death penalty. It appointed a Deposit of $ 5 million.
