An elderly driver crashed into a new York restaurant: 8 people wounded

On Saturday afternoon an elderly man in the SUV Hyundai entered the fast food restaurant Wendy’s on long island. The culprit was injured himself and was sent to the hospital 7 people.

The incident occurred at about 13:40 on Montauk highway in West Babylon. As reported by the police Department of Suffolk County, the Culprit, 87-year-old resident Lindenhurst, crossed reverse five lanes on the highway, drove on the lawn and crashed into the front of the house.

Machine more than half was in the room. At this point the restaurant was filled with visitors, among whom were many children.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident provoked panic among those present. The scene could be heard screaming and a child crying. Fortunately, without lethal consequences, but 7 people received minor injuries. Most of them were injured by the broken glass of the window. They were taken to medical center Good Samaritan in West Islip.

The elderly driver was taken to the same medical facility. The police did not show any charges.
