Enclosed woman and two men from Brooklyn were arrested in connection with suspicion of organizing a fraudulent scheme to extort money from an elderly person.

Magdalena Nixon, 42, sandy DEWALT, 53, and Randy Jones, 49, faces up to 15 years in prison for two thefts in the large size, three cases of pressure and imposture.

In July 2015, the 65-year-old man from Queens called in to the Dating Lavalife. At the end of the dialogue, the man exchanged personal numbers with a girl with whom conversation was conducted. The scammer threatened the elderly man with arrest if he did not pay a certain amount as court costs. People said that he should pay compensation to the girl’s mother and to cover the cost of therapy for the child.

Until October 2016, the man continued to receive threatening phone calls and sent about 50 thousand dollars of their extortion. In the end, he suspected swindler, fraud, changed his phone number and filed a police report.

Nixon, who is serving time in a correctional facility in Albion, the state of new York, in a similar way, gave instructions to Dewalta and Jones about how to lead the conversation and raise funds.

Acting Brooklyn district attorney Eric Gonzalez said: «We are determined to put an end to these shameful schemes, which are intended for human confusion and ignorance of the legal system».
