Because of the wind, a tree branch fell on a school bus: 8 children injured

Weather conditions in new York led to the accident. Around 8 a.m. on Woodhaven Boulevard and 66th Road due to strong winds the huge branch of a tree by the roadside fell on a passing school bus with children. As a result of the incident injured 8 students and 3 adults. Fortunately, their injuries are not life-threatening. All the victims were taken to Elmhurst Hospital.

In the fall the branches the right side of the bus and the windshield was severely damaged, the door was barely hanging on. Passengers managed to get out of the bus through the rear emergency door.

City officials have not yet confirmed information about what weather conditions caused the accident, however, at the time of the accident, the wind in the city was strong enough (near LaGuardia airport they reached 40 miles per hour).
