Early Sunday morning the driver of a pickup truck crashed into the crew, which housed nine people. As a result of road accidents at least three children were killed and six other passengers were seriously injured.
The accident occurred at about 8:34 a.m. in Central Michigan – Sheridan, located about 45 miles northeast of Grand rapids.
Police in Michigan reported that a pickup truck was heading East when for unknown reasons crashed into the coach and «blew it.»
The victims were 12-year-old boy and girls aged seven and nine years. The six surviving passengers were taken to the district hospital. The doctors said that they are in critical condition.
According to representatives of the state police, a horse— drawn carriage, experienced a fatal accident and «was fine» after the crash. The pickup driver also was injured. Police say he was open to cooperation immediately after the crash.
As reported by officials, the driver of the car was in a condition of narcotic and alcoholic intoxication. Police in Michigan continue to investigate the tragedy to determine the cause.
