Shooting in Texas Church: 20 dead, 30 wounded (updated)

Several witnesses told channel KENS 5 that in a Church in Sutherland springs, Texas, a man entered the Church and shot several people.

On Sunday morning, November 5, unknown staged a shooting in the First Baptist Church in Sutherland springs. A witness near the scene reported that at 11:30 he heard about 20 shots at a time as the Church service continued.

District Commissioner, Wilson albert Geymz confirmed this fact and reported several casualties – among them are children. Among the dead, according to local residents, there is a 2-year-old child. This information is not yet confirmed by officials.

Several other law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation said that after shooting 30 people were injured. At the moment the media is talking about 30 dead.

At the medical center Connally memorial reported that several victims from the shooting were brought to him.

Dana Fletcher, a local businesswoman, told CBS News that he saw a large number of police cars and ambulances in the vicinity of the Church.

A representative of the Sheriff’s office Robert Murphy said that the suspect was killed. It is unknown the shooter was eliminated by police or took his own life by himself.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has already tweeted his condolences to all those affected in the incident and their families.

«Our prayers are with all who have been harmed in this regard is horrible. We thank law enforcement for their response,» said Abbott.
