Yesterday around 11:30 a.m. residents of a small Texas town of Sutherland springs was shaken by a terrible tragedy: a 26-year-old Devin Patrick Kelly, a former employee of the U.S. air force, entered the building a small Baptist Church and shot members.
According to police, Kelly, dressed in military gear with ballistic belt and holding an assault rifle, began firing from the threshold of the Church. He didn’t stop after he entered the building, killing at least 26 people and wounding 20. The age of the victims varies from 5 to 72 years.
«We do not believe that it has something to do with the Church, told CNN County Sheriff Wilson Joe Tackitt. We found no explanation.»
After less than a day about Kelly knows a lot – thanks to the police and the media. The man was a veteran of the U.S. air force and former lecturer on the study of the Bible. Despite the statement of the Sheriff that the connection between the Kelly and the Church are not found, the publication Dailymail reported that the wife of the shooter, Daniel shields, was formerly a teacher in the First Baptist Church. And his mother-in-law, Michelle shields, it seems, was a member of the same Church and, according to information from social networks, was friends with the pastor’s wife.
According account Kelly at LinkedIn, at the time of the shooting, he worked as a security guard at Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resort in new BRAUNFELS, which is located approximately 35 miles from Sutherland springs.
