Democrats call for gun control after Texas shooting

Democrats again are calling for the reform of the legislation on the use of weapons after a mass shooting at First Baptist Church of Sutherland springs, Texas.

After the tragedy that claimed the lives of 27 people, officials are Democrats, including senators Bob Casey , Jr., dick Durbin and Kamala Harris — a possible candidate for President in 2020, urged Congress to act.

Senseless gun violence has torn apart another community — this time in a house of worship. When do we say enough is enough? https://t.co/gsW1KN54xc

«Senseless violence has now reached the people in a sacred place. When we finally say enough is enough?».

The shooter turned his gun on people — kids — in a place of worship. America is in the grips of a gun violence crisis. Congress must act. https://t.co/CIJX3jM3Tq

«The shooter pointed his gun at people, children in a sacred place. America is in a state of the arms crisis. Congress needs to act.»

A weapon that should be used to protect life, according to lobbyists, in fact, used to kill. The shooting of churchgoers in Texas churches, which occurred only a month after the shooting in Las Vegas once again proved that, they say.

Senator Chris Murphy strongly condemned gun lobbyists and their colleagues in Congress to support their position.

Can you sleep tonight, colleagues, when the price of the gun lobby goodwill is this — blood soaked church and school floors, city streets?

«Can you sleep here tonight, colleagues, when the price of weapons is a Church, school, floors and streets soaked in blood?».

Murphy accused them of disrespect of human life and the thirst for profit which brings the legal arms trade. He said that the attack in Sutherland springs this Sunday, in Las Vegas last month, in a night club Pulse in Orlando last year — the beginning of the epidemic, which can only prevent strong action on gun control.
