Explosions in the factory of cosmetics in new York: 33 wounded, 1 missing

Two explosions rocked a giant plant for the production of cosmetics Verla International, located in Orange County in new York. The incident injured more than three dozen people (at the moment there is information about the 33 victims), including 7 firemen. According to preliminary data, all victims have got burns of different severity, but at the moment their life is not in danger. One person was missing (presumably, he was in the room at the time of the explosions, but its location is not yet known). The plant employs a total of about 100 employees.

Verla International covers an area of 52 000 square feet on heel hill road in new Windsor, 55 miles North of new York city. The explosions occurred at the plant around 10.20 am, causing the appearance of a huge pillar of black chemical smoke spreading over the area. The fact that in addition to cosmetics, the plant produced nail Polish, and therefore, the products of combustion and smoke can be hazardous to health. Firefighters evacuated people and cleared the area within half a mile from the plant. However, what territory in the future, it may spread the smoke is not yet known. A lot depends on weather conditions, strength and direction of the wind.

Doctors noted the efficiency and coherence of the work of the emergency services, saying that if help hadn’t arrived so quickly, the consequences could be disastrous.
