A fire in a school in the Bronx: 4 student hospitalized

Four pupils were injured during a fire at a school in the Bronx on Wednesday afternoon. The fire broke out during the science demonstration in St. Catharine Academy on Williamsbridge Road. It is a Catholic school for girls. The school management passed into the hands of the sisters of mercy.

After the incident, the school’s President released the following statement: «this morning during the demonstration was an accident, in which several students suffered from a fire in the chemistry lab. Four Schoolgirls were sent to the hospital. No hazardous materials in the laboratory was not.»

According to Pix11, two Schoolgirls suffered serious burns. At the moment they are in a serious condition.

One of the employees of the school – sister wolf reported that chemistry teacher is present and, apparently, conducted a demonstration of «mad» experiences in connection with the accident.

The flames quickly extinguished and did not develop into a large-scale fire. The incident is being investigated.
