The man who was engaged in underwater hunting off the coast of California on Saturday was the victim of a shark attack. The incident occurred in the County of Monterey, South of San Francisco.
A signal for help came to the rescue in the second half of the day. Two on-duty lifeguards rushed to help the victim in Stillwater Cove.
The man was given first aid. Because the wound was deep, there was significant blood loss. The man put a tourniquet on.
At the time of the attack the victim was under water. His condition is not currently known.
After analyzing footage from the scene of the incident, filmed by a surveillance camera, the Sheriff said that the man was attacked by «a large aquatic animal, perhaps a shark.»
