A tourist from Georgia will spend part of his holiday in handcuffs, after police found a gun under the mattress in his hotel room in Lower Manhattan.
31-year-old Terrell Coleman came to new York with his bride to celebrate his birthday. And so the trip was calmer, the man seized a gun. But he left out one thing: a license to bear arms in Georgia in the state of new York has no power.
«He has a license to keep and bear arms in Georgia, and he just thought it works and here», — commented on the incident to the police.
The gun was discovered by hotel staff the Doubletree by Hilton on Stone street. near Whitehall St. about 11 a.m. Sunday. The place was called by the police. Coleman was arrested in connection with illegal possession of weapons.
Previously it was reported that on may 29 a 29-year-old tourist from North Carolina also forgot his gun under the mattress at the Harbour Motor Inn in Shore Parkway. He called the hotel and asked the staff to «look after» the weapon prior to its arrival.
