Arson in Hollywood has led to major damage and evacuation of people

A massive fire broke out Monday morning at a construction site in East Hollywood, destroyed 3 buildings. The flames were so intense that the Windows of the neighboring houses burst from the heat.

According to the fire Department, fire in the 400 block of Heliotrope drive broke out at 6:04. After 40 minutes it was difficult to extinguish with large amounts of water, but by that time, three timber framed buildings under construction were burned to the ground.

The flames had spread to a nearby residential complex and the roof of the single storey house, fortunately, has done without victims among the population, but 10 adults and 10 children had to be evacuated. Assistance to victims was provided by the staff of the red cross.

One firefighter was hospitalized with minor injuries.
