80-year-old Patrick 83-year-old Barbara Giron went to his pickup truck in Vermont. When the couple were driving on interstate 80, police stopped them in connection with the violation of road traffic. But, as it turned out, the elderly couple had something to hide from law enforcement.

A representative of the Sheriff’s office Floor Vrbka said that the police smelled raw marijuana when he stopped the car. In connection with the suspected presence of prohibited substances, they called in the canine unit. Trained dogs found 60 pounds (about 27 kilograms) of marijuana in the boxes inside the truck.

Estimated County Sheriff’s Department York, the value of the seized drugs amounts to 336 thousand dollars. Vrbka reported that, according to Jirnov, they went from Clearlake Oaks, California, to Vermont to deliver marijuana as Christmas gifts.

Both suspects are in custody in the York County jail on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and without the presence of the packets of excise stamps. Both crimes are considered punishable.
