28-year-old Erica Miranda Gisela Alvarez from Houston was pregnant, but last winter she had a miscarriage. The woman was not ready to accept the loss, so went for a serious crime — she decided to kidnap someone else’s child.
The choice fell on Alvarez baby 6 weeks old — the niece of her friend. On entering the house last Tuesday, the intruder was hit several times with a knife, the girl’s mother, 33-year-old Carolina Miranda Flores, and then left the scene with the baby on hands.

Flores died from wounds and her killer in the same day to visit his relatives by presenting them a small Shamali as his own daughter. As it turned out, all this time she hid her miscarriage and continued to pretend to be pregnant.
Soon, the Houston police and the FBI managed to trace the kidnapper — on Tuesday a woman was arrested outside the house on South Gesner road, when she was standing in the yard with the baby on hand and your young man. The latter also was detained, but the evidence of his involvement in the crime are not yet available.
If the fault Alvarez is proved, she could face the death penalty.
The family of the victim and the killer moved to the USA 5 years ago. The police said they did not plan to find out their immigration status as this is irrelevant to the case.
