In Yosemite National Park collapsed: the entrance is blocked

In the National Park of Yosemite has been the collapse of the cliff. The stones blocked one of the main roads in the Park, reports ABC7.

«A rock fall has blocked the El Portal Road, the road fell more than 4 thousand tons of rock. The stones fell on the area more than thousand square feet,» said a spokesman for Yosemite National Park Scott Gediman.

El Portal Road is a continuation of Highway 140. About one-third of Park visitors use this entrance. A year passes, and passes from 700 thousand to 800 thousand people. Fortunately, during the collapse no one was hurt.

This entrance will remain closed at least until early next week. In the Park is still accessed via Highways 41 and 120. There are three entrances which lead to the Yosemite valley, the main attractions of the Park.

The Eastern entrance to Yosemite is still closed, because there the workers are trying to clear the roads from the record snowfall on the Tioga passwhich is at an altitude of almost 10 thousand feet above sea level.
