10 Americans died during the plane crash in Costa Rica

On the eve of the New year, 12 people were killed during the crash in Corsa Rica: including 10 American passengers and 2 local pilot. Five of the Crash of a private single-engine Cessna 208B Grand Caravan happened after lunch in a wooded area of the Canton of Nandayure, province of Guanacaste.

The Ministry of public security of Costa Rica released footage from the scene showing the burning wreckage of the aircraft.

According to authorities, the plane belonged to a private company, Nature Air TI-BEI.

It is unclear what caused the accident. Authorities are investigating the incident.

Costa Rica’s President Luis Guillermo Solis, on behalf of all his subjects expressed condolences to the families of the victims and said that the government is ready to do everything possible to help them in difficult times.

His predecessor, Laura Chinchilla said that one of the dead pilots is her cousin.

Update. At the moment it is known that onboard the plane there was a family from Westchester, new York: spouses Bruce and Irene Steinberg, and their three sons.
