«Hawaii is threatened by a missile attack» – this warning came on the TV and radio, as well as came to cell phones.

All the inhabitants of the Hawaiian Islands has received notification of an emergency situation: «Hawaii is threatened by a missile attack. Immediately seek shelter. This is not a drill».

While the message raised concerns with respect to social networking, emergency Management Hawaii quickly responded on Twitter, saying: «Hawaii is NOT threatened missile strike.»

The Governor of Hawaii, David Yutaka Aydzh told CNN that human error caused the warning.

«It was a mistake made by the standard procedure during the transition to the next, and an employee pressed the wrong button», he said.

Aydzh wrote in Twitterthat he will meet with senior officials of the defence of the state, «to determine what caused the false alarm this morning and how to prevent its recurrence».

The second emergency warning was sent to the phones of the Hawaiians, 38 minutes after the original message, confirming a false alarm.

«AGAIN a FALSE ALARM,» wrote the Senator of Hawaii, Brian Schatz on Twitter. – «What happened today is absolutely inexcusable. The entire staff was horrified».

As reported by CNN, the Department of homeland security and the Federal Agency for emergencies are in control of the situation.
