On Saturday, may 26, bus the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) brought down the child at the intersection of East 184th Street and Webster Avenue in Fordham heights (NY). In a grave condition the boy was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
The collision 38-year-old driver did not see: at the crossroads of it formed a blind spot. As witnesses say, it happened due to the fact that the boy rapidly down the motorized scooter from the hill on the sidewalk on East 184th Street and collided with a bus. For passing down Webster Avenue drivers this part of the street closed by the wall of the building.
Where were at the time of the accident, the parents of 7-year-old of Savona Betheais not yet known. The driver remained on the scene until the ambulance and police.
«This is a tragedy, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the dead boy. We work closely with the police,» — said the representative of the MTA Shams Tarek.
