The helicopter fell on the house: 1 person died, 1 was missing

Yesterday, July 8, in a residential area of Williamsburg (state of Virginia) around 5 p.m. the plane crashed: townhouse crashed helicopter. As a result of the tragedy killed 1 person, 1 missing.

Virginia police reported that the accident occurred near the 1100 block in Settlement Drive in the area of Bristol Commons, causing a fire in the residence 10 residential units.

A R44 helicopter with only the pilot on board crashed into a townhouse complex in Williamsburg, VA at about 5 pm ET on July 8. Local authorities will release information about the victims. The FAA is investigating and the @NTSB will determine the probable cause of the accident.

By words a press-the Secretary of state police Sergeant Michelle Anahi, the victim, whose name has not been disclosed, was not a helicopter pilot. Other details, like the cause of the incident, law enforcement agencies have not yet reported.

In addition to local police and firefighters on the scene arrived the police College of William and Mary, state police, employees of the Federal aviation administration, National transportation safety Board and the team of York County, working with the drones search engines.

Donald Johnson, residing near the crash, told the Daily Pressthat was 3 m away from the crash.

«I was downstairs on the ground floor when this thing crashed. I had never heard such a roar — shared what he saw Donald. I was afraid he was going to explode.»

The press-Secretary of police said that the investigation will take about 3 days. With people left homeless, red cross employees.
