In Chicago police shot an African American in the city riots broke out

On Saturday evening, July 14, the people of Chicago took to the streets, outraged by the police conduct. A few hours earlier, police shot and killed a man, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The tragic incident occurred at 17.30 on 71st Street in South Shore. Circumambulating, police noticed an African American who was considered suspicious, and went to find out if he’s armed he is. Between the patrol and a man broke out a conflict — an employee of a law enforcement used the weapon. From the received wounds the man died at the hospital Jackson Park.

The victim was a local Barber, which was known by the nickname Snoop. According to witnesses, shots were fired into his back — the man tried to escape.

The news of the murder spread through the city instantly. A spontaneous protest in minutes gathered at the scene about 150 people. The townspeople chanted: «Murderers! Whom do you serve? Who are you protecting?»

The guards were accused of racism and abuse of power.

Passion strained to the limit, clashes began between protesters and police. The police used batons. In response, the crowd threw stones, glass bottles and even bottles of urine. The mass collision, which injured 4 police officers, 4 protesters were arrested.

As reported in police, the people were «inaccurate information about metrognome shot», and at the scene found a pistol and 2 clips of ammunition.

Police in Chicago took around 5 hours to appease the protesters: the confrontation lasted until 10.30 PM. However, activists remained on the streets until midnight. The last protesters have gone home in the morning, saying that he acted on emotion, but this is not the end. Sunday, July 15, residents plan to discuss how to proceed.
