A teenager on the beach fell 180 kg boulder: the guy lost part of his hands

For 15-year-old walk on the beautiful Emerald Bay beach in Laguna beach (southern California) nearly ended fatally.

The incident occurred in the afternoon yesterday, July 18.

According to eyewitnesses, the guy was climbing with a friend at the coastal cliffs, when suddenly the top fell off the boulder. 400-pound block (over 180 pounds) grazed the teenager and ripped off his hand piece. After a large boulder fell on top of the smaller stones, and the guy was trapped, almost buried in them.

Eyewitnesses immediately called the emergency services. On a scene there has arrived the helicopter with the police, lifeguards Laguna beach fire.

As told to Tony Bommarito — captain fire Department orange County — the guy lost part of his hands, but his life is not in danger. The boy was taken by helicopter to medical center UC Irvine.

According to Bommarito, beachgoers should always remember about the danger when walking near cliffs. «We don’t know what could trigger another collapse, said firefighter. – No one knows.»
