Mother and daughter died in a Motel because of the discharge current after a failure in the air conditioning

Police are investigating the death of a mother and child in a Motel room in North Carolina after a woman tried to fix the problem in the air conditioner emitted fumes.

On Monday (August 20) morning, fire crews rocky Mount arrived on a call at the Comfort Inn Suites in Gold Rock, located near route 95 in the County of Nash. There they found the woman and the girl unconscious. According to preliminary data, 30-year-old Kendra Pittman and her 9-year-old daughter received a discharge of electric current.

The woman died from cardiac arrest, and the child was taken to Vidant Medical Center. Later, the police confirmed that the girl also died.

As reported by law enforcement agencies, just in the room lived 5 people. At the time of the incident with Kendra, there were three more of her children.

10-year-old son of the deceased told investigators that they had broken the conditioning and began to smoke. The woman checked the device and wanted opened the door to ventilate the room. When Kendra tried to leave the room, then fell unconscious.

«Yes, there are families who live here. And she did the right thing, ‘ said her cousin Tony Williams reporters WRAL News. She lost her life in her room».

To determine the cause of death of women will be an autopsy. The incident remains under investigation. It is not yet known, will there be any charges and to whom.
