According to representatives of the Prosecutor’s office, Wednesday evening at the airport named George. Kennedy was arrested 30-year-old nurse from the Bronx who was going to Board a flight to Turkey to join ISIS.
Saddam Adam Mohamed Raisani was planning to leave his family and leave life in new York to join terrorist organizations in Syria. There he planned to go through Turkey.
Authorities report that Raisani was under surveillance by the FBI and NYPD since January of this year. It was then that he contacted a confidential source cooperating with law enforcement authorities to request assistance in realization of his intentions to join ISIS. The man said that fully supports the actions of the militants and believes they are justified from the point of view of the Qur’an (including such atrocities as beheading).
In subsequent meetings with Raisani broker introduced him to undercover officer, who said he also allegedly wanted to join ISIS. Raisani began to teach the officer, telling exactly how he should escape arrest, were called upon to distribute videos of executions by militants, among others.
Raisani was planning to join the terrorists before the end of the Muslim Holy month of Ramadan, which runs from 26 may to 24 June. The mediator and the undercover officer, the man said that it was not afraid of arrest because «Allah will know that at least I tried».
21 Jun Raisani arrived at Kennedy airport to go to Istanbul and then to Syria, but was detained by police officers while trying to get on that flight.
Now the terrorist-the loser faces up to 20 years in prison.
