Guide Manhattan mosque alert letter threatening content. Received Wednesday evening e-mail message reads: «In August we will come to your mosque and we’ll make a bloody massacre. The scale of mass killings will be unprecedented. What happened in Canada, will seem childish prattle».
The letter came into the Muslim house of prayer Masjid Manhattan on cliff street with the London email address.
The incident is investigated by the Task force on combating crimes of hate in new York.
Action anonymous sender condemned the authorities of the Big Apple. «The threat of mass murder in the house of prayer is an attack on the core values and fundamental principles of our nation and our city. The political climate, which reinforces hatred and fear, still has very real consequences for the safety of our residents. We stand in solidarity with the Muslim community, we condemn this menace and hateful rhetoric that creates such a climate,» wrote city leaders in a joint statement.
In the letter, anonymous attacker referred to the terrorist attack in the mosque of Quebec, which took place on January 30 of this year. That day two men in masks shot of the congregation during evening prayers, causing 6 people were killed and another 18 were injured.
