The woman got a tube head, trying to break up a fight at the station Herald Square

Police are hunting a man who hit a woman over the head with a steel pipe in a subway station in Manhattan.

Wednesday at 7 in the morning 28-year-old woman, as usual, was driving to work when he saw the two arguing strangers.

«I heard screams and just went to see what was happening. I saw that some lady was holding one of the boys,» the victim told Eyewitness News.

The situation grew tense and she decided to intervene, standing between the men. But suddenly one of them pulled out a steel pipe and hit her on the head.

The woman was taken to Bellevue in stable condition, but with a laceration on his head. Doctors had to put four stitches to close.

«I felt I needed to help, to do something, — said the victim. Is not always a reasonable solution, and in the end it turned against me. Now, certainly — I this will not do».

Unfortunately, the suspect could not be arrested on the spot, he fled in an unknown direction. Witnesses described him to police as African American, which is about 50 years.
