33-year-old was Ronil Singh once came to the United States from his native Fiji to realize the dream of his life – to become an officer. After a few years he succeeded and he became part of a team of police of the small town of Newman (CA). But this year, carrying his dangerous service, he received a fatal bullet.
The local police chief Randy Richardson tried to hold back the tears when sharing their memories of Singh, who, he said, loved his wife and 5-month-old son.
«He came to America with one goal – to serve the country, said Richardson, noting that Singh was always in a good mood. He loved what he did. He loved being a COP, he loved to be a husband, he loved to be a father.»
According to Richardson, Singh drove more than two hours each way to attend the police Academy in the town of Juba. He came to the Sheriff’s office Merced County as a reserve officer worked as an officer for animal control in Turlock, and then was hired by the Newman police in 2011.
The day after Christmas Singh stopped the truck, suspecting the driver was drunk driving. But unknown persons opened fire on him and fled. When Richardson arrived on the scene, they found that the car the corporal was his dog Sam, dressed as Mrs. Claus.

«He was just doing little things just to bring a smile to people’s faces,» said Richardson in his speech.
The suspect was an immigrant who is in the U.S. illegally. His truck was later found in the garage of a mobile home Park is 6 km from the scene.
According to police, they have identified the man who allegedly was behind the assassination of Singh, but has not yet called his name. They believe that the attacker is still in the area to the South-East of San Francisco. He’s armed and dangerous.
«This suspect is in our country illegally. He’s a criminal,» he told reporters County Sheriff Stanislav Adam Christianson.
