This morning in downtown Los Angeles began a strong fire. The message about the fire at 459 S. Hewitt St. — in the kitchen Urth Caffé in the center for the arts — entered the fire service at 6:45. After 15 minutes, the fire spread to the attic of the building.

About 100 firefighters worked on the roof to knock down the flames and protect neighboring areas. Thick smoke and the sounds of sirens filled the area.

According to the LAFD, the fire was extinguished at 8:10. No injuries were reported, the cause of the incident is not yet known. The investigation is ongoing.
