Among the 14 killed in attack in Kenyan hotel has an American — a former member of the peace Corps

American investment Advisor and former member of the peace Corps — among the victims of the terrorist attacks on five-star Dusit hotel in the Kenyan capital Nairobi.

Local authorities reported that as a result of the largest attacks in the last 5 years has killed at least 14 people. Responsibility for the attack claimed by the Somali extremist group «Al-Shabab». According to sources Reuters, the victims were 11 Kenyans, and one American and one British, two killed have not yet been identified.

The U.S. state Department confirmed that among the dead are a US citizen. They found Jason Spindler, founder and managing Director of I-DEV International. As reported in the company, he sought to give impetus to business development in countries such as Kenya.

The mother of a dead American, Sarah Spindler, told NBC News that her son «tried to make a positive change in third world countries in emerging markets.»

Jason Spindler, a graduate of the University of Texas, received his doctorate from new York University. He then served in the U.S. peace Corps in Northern Peru.

The state Department has not said how it killed the American.
