In California due to a massive crash blocked the southern direction on highway 15

On highway 15 near Cajon Pass has been a terrible crash involving more than 20 cars. All lanes southbound were blocked for several hours.

On January 16 around 9:28 a.m. on the South lane of route 15 between oak hill and highway 138 one car slowed down and was about to turn around, and a few other cars started to go around, not to crash. But due to poor visibility and high speed of the collision was not avoided.

Occurred a chain reaction and, as a result, 25 vehicles were involved in a large-scale accident. About 35 people were at the epicenter of the accident. Most of the victims received moderate or minor injuries and refused hospitalization. In the end, 6 people were given first aid on the spot and 3 were taken to the hospital.

The cause of the accident is primarily considered a heavy fog which greatly reduced visibility on the roads that day.

Heavy fog in the #CajonPass was a contributing factor to a chain reaction crash that has all southbound lanes of the I-15 shutdown. CHP says as many as 20-25 vehicles involved. Mostly minor to mod injuries. Stay tuned to @ABC7 for more updates. pic.twitter.com/HcKDsHpuL5

At 11: 30 cleared lanes 1 and 2, 3 and 4 lanes remained closed. At 13:40 opened South on Ranchero Road. Bands No. 3 and No. 4 are currently still closed near the crash.

A lot of drivers stuck in a huge traffic jam, waiting for the southern area will re-open. For witnesses of the accident it was all like deja vu. Just 8 months ago on highway 15 has something similar on the scale of the accident. The route blocked near the Cajon pass two hours. The collision of two cars exactly the same has caused a chain reaction. In the end, around 30 cars were damaged, 17 people were injured. The culprit was again thick fog.
