Michael and Georgena Roberts of Jerseyville (Il) will hold for more than 20 years in prison. Wednesday, January 16, they were convicted in the death of 6-year-old Liam Roberts, who was starved, punishing for bad behavior.

In November 2018 Michael and Georgena Roberts pleaded guilty to first-degree murder. And on 16 January, district judge Eric S. Pistorius sentenced a man to 25 years in prison. According to the decision of Pistorius, due to the serious mental illness of the woman, which «significantly» influenced her behavior, she had served for 5 years less a spouse. During sentencing the judge repeatedly stated that the case is «beyond understanding.»
«My son Liam died because I failed him, and the lives of my children changed forever because of me,» said the convict, Michael Roberts before the sentence.
The biological mother of Liam, Kim Roberts, said that he had not seen the child since four years. She said she had the right to visit the son, but the father would not allow her to see him.
